Code of Conduct
- By purchasing tickets to The Gilded Age, attendees agree to abide by the code of conduct, including all policies listed below.
- Teabot Events reserves the right to rescind the tickets of anyone not in compliance with the code of conduct. Teabot Events also reserves the right to remove attendees from the venue or ban them from the event.
Attendance Policy
- Attendees must be 18 years or older in order to attend The Gilded Age.
- The check-in period for the event will take place from 10:50 AM to 12:00 PM. During this time, attendees will have their tickets checked, and they will be allowed into the event. After check-in has ended, late attendees may not enter.
Etiquette & Behavior Policy
- Attendees
- Attendees are expected to treat each other with kindness, respect, and courtesy. We are dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all attendees.
- Bullying, stalking, threatening, and harassment of any type will not be tolerated, including but not limited to: verbal, sexual, physical, or online.
- Discrimination, bigotry, and hate speech will also not be tolerated, including but not limited to: homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, and ableism.
- Always ask for consent before taking photographs or videos of other attendees.
- Consumption of alcohol, smoking, or vaping at The Gilded Age is prohibited, regardless of age. In addition, usage of illegal substances is strictly prohibited.
- Venue
- Be mindful of your surroundings, and treat the venue space with respect. Do not block aisles, stairwells, or doorways, and do not impede the flow of traffic.
- The museum has many historic and irreplaceable exhibits. Do not damage or misplace any of the items on display. In addition, do not pass any boundaries or markers that are placed around the exhibits.
- Attendees may take photographs/videos of the exhibits and items on display.
- Safety Reports
- To report any code of conduct violations or concerns, please contact teabotevents@gmail.com. Reports can also be made to the safety team in-person during the event.
- We take all reports seriously, and we will look into every report. The full details of the reports will be kept confidential, including the identities of those making reports. Only the safety team will view the full reports and identifying details.
- Depending on the severity of the incident and other factors, the safety team may choose to issue a warning to the individual(s) in question, rescind their ticket, or remove them from the venue immediately.
- Preemptive Bans
- While we are not affiliated with any J-fashion community or organization, we reserve the right to ban individuals who have been known to cause issues in other communities or organizations.
- These decisions will be based on behavior in violation of the code of conduct, even when that behavior did not take place at The Gilded Age. We are committed to taking proactive steps to increase attendee safety.
Ticket Sales and Transfer Policy
- All tickets are non-refundable. Attendance to The Gilded Age requires a valid ticket, and counterfeit tickets are strictly prohibited.
- In the event that a ticket holder is unable to attend the event, tickets may be transferred to another person. Attendees are responsible for conducting ticket transfers through our ticketing platform.
- During a ticket transfer, ticket holders may not sell their ticket for more than they originally paid.
- There will be a ticket buying and selling thread on the official The Gilded Age Facebook page (link TBA). Ticket holders may choose to find a buyer through this thread. Teabot Events is not responsible for verifying the identities of buyers or sellers on the thread. However, you may contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
Dress Code
- Attendees are required to wear lolita, ouji, or aristocrat fashion. We encourage attendees to wear semi-formal or formal coords.
- Although we encourage attendees to wear items from the guest brand, it is not mandatory to do so.
- Costumes and cosplay are not allowed at The Gilded Age. In addition, other types of J-fashion are not allowed, such as fairy kei, gyaru, decora, otome, mori-kei, wafuku, etc. Western formalwear is not allowed, with some exceptions (see “ADA and Accessibility Policy”).
- Clothing displaying explicit sexual imagery, hate speech, or profanity is not allowed.
- Weapons or items that resemble realistic weapons are not allowed.
- We reserve the right to ask attendees to change their attire or to leave the event should we feel that their clothing is not appropriate for the event.
Mask Policy
- All attendees are required to wear a well-fitting mask that covers their mouths and noses. Masks must be worn at all times with the exception of:
- Actively eating or drinking
- Briefly taking photos in designated areas
- Masks will be available at the event if you forget to bring one.
- Due to the unpredictable nature of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases, we reserve the right to implement additional restrictions at any time.
ADA and Accessibility Policy
- We are dedicated to ensuring that The Gilded Age is accessible to all attendees. The museum is ADA accessible, and attendees may contact teabotevents@gmail.com for specific questions regarding accessibility.
- For attendees that require a caregiver to attend the event, caregivers must have their own ticket. Caregivers may choose to wear Western formalwear in lieu of lolita, ouji, or aristocrat fashion.
- Upon request, accessible seating can be provided. Please contact us directly if you require accessible seating for yourself and/or a caregiver.
Photography Policy
- Attendees are allowed to take photos and videos during the event. We request attendees to obtain consent before taking photos and videos of other attendees. However, you may appear in the background of other attendees’ photos and videos.
- In addition, the Teabot Events staff will also be engaged in event photography and filming. By attending The Gilded Age, attendees understand that they may appear in our promotional material and social media.
Prohibited Items
- The following items are strictly prohibited inside the venue, including but not limited to:
- Weapons, including realistic prop items
- Illegal substances
- Smoking devices, such as cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vaporizers
- Any device that makes disruptive sounds, such as megaphones or speakers
- Any device that is visually disruptive, such as strobe lights, fog machines, or laser pointers
- Disruptive single-use items such as confetti, glitter, balloons, bubbles, etc.
- Please refrain from using selfie sticks or tripods in crowded areas, for the safety of attendees and event staff.
